Launching in the 2026-27 academic year, Camden Catholic High School is proud to become a member school in the Play Like a Champion Today sports ministry program. Founded in 2006 by Clark Power, Notre Dame Professor of psychology and education, Play Like a Champion Today is scientifically-based and ethically-directed. Its educational programs promote the physical, mental, social, emotional and moral development of children. Play Like a Champion Today provides the resources for our coaches, administrators, parents and student-athletes to make sports an opportunity for faith formation and to develop our student-athletes' spirituality and relationship with God.
"Irish Athletics is excited and proud to launch the Play Like a Champion Today program for CCHS," shared Jim McHugh, Director of Athletics. "Through PLACT we will be able to connect our entire athletic department, from coaches to players to parents, to resources that will make participating in CCHS athletics an even more well-rounded faith experience."
The Play Like a Champion Today program for Irish Athletics will include coaching clinics, parent workshops, athlete resources training, seminars and retreats. CCHS Irish Ministry will work in conjunction with Irish Athletics to plan and host PLACT events and programs.
"The first Play Like a Champion Today retreat is taking place on October 24, and is open to any CCHS student-athlete to attend," shared Mary Gregory, Director of Campus Ministry. "Our department will use the Play Like a Champion resources for our planning and execution of the retreat, allowing us to show our students how their athletic participation can strengthen their faith."
CCHS will provide updates to students and parents about ways to get involved, be inspired, and grow your faith through Play Like A Champion Today.
