class of 2026 baccalaureate and commencement

The students earned more than $31 Million in merit scholarships and 716 college acceptances

On Friday, June 5, 2026, Camden Catholic High School will celebrate the Baccalaureate and commencement of its 138th class in school history. The momentous occasion will begin with the bagpiper-led procession at 5:45PM across the front walk of the school on Cuthbert Boulevard, as a nod to the school’s Irish mascot and founding by the Brothers of the Holy Cross, the same religious order which founded the University of Notre Dame. The Baccalaureate Mass, celebrated by Bishop Joseph A. Williams, Diocese of Camden will take place in the school’s Grandi Auditorium, followed immediately by the commencement.

This year, Camden Catholic seniors submitted over 1,230 college applications and earned 716 acceptances at more than 170 different colleges and universities.  Of those acceptances, about 87% of seniors were accepted into their first-choice college with 96% of the class enrolling in a university program this fall. The Camden Catholic class of 2026 will be attending 60 different colleges and universities in 18 different states, 26 students will be attending 17 different Catholic colleges, nine students will be attending CCHS Partnership universities, two students are attending an HBCU, one student is attending an Ivy League university, three students will be traveling abroad - two for their education and one as a volunteer, one student earned a Congressional nomination and acceptance to The United States Naval Academy and one student has enlisted into the United States Marine Corp and has already begun training.

The graduates will be embarking on a wide variety of paths. This includes, but is not limited to accelerated Bachelors/Masters or PhD programs in biomedical engineering, medicine, physical therapy, occupational therapy, law and pharmacy programs. In total, the senior class reports earning more than $31 million in merit scholarships.

Additional highlights for the CCHS class of 2026 include several recipients of presidential scholarships at the institutions of their choice, future members of honors colleges, a National Merit scholarship recipient and a Questbridge scholar. Kuyill Ponnappan (Moorestown, NJ) is a National Merit finalist and will be notified in June as to her final award. Eddy Perez (Camden, NJ) earned a Questbridge scholarship to Duke University, which is a full tuition scholarship to one of the nation's most competitive universities.

Two members of the class are also graduating exactly 100 years after their ancestors. Seamus Bieg and Gabrielle Healey, both from Haddon Heights, NJ, have great-grandparents who graduated from CCHS in 1926 when it was located in Camden. Those graduates will present the school with the class of 1926 graduation photo as a gift during the ceremony.

Founded in 1887, Camden Catholic is the flagship high school in the diocese of Camden. Originating at Seventh and Federal Streets in the city of Camden, CCHS moved to Cherry Hill in 1962 when a fire destroyed much of the original structure. Today, its graduates are proud of the longtime legacy of the “Green & White.”
