Camden Catholic High School is honored and proud to announce that the 2026 spring musical production of The Addams Family has earned two nods from the Paper Mill Playhouse for the 31st annual Rising Star Awards. The program recognizes excellence in New Jersey high school musical theater and is often described as the state’s version of the Tony Awards for high school productions. This year, 114 high schools from 19 counties were adjudicated by a team of 55 evaluators.
The Addams Family, presented by The Arts at CCHS, has earned the prestigious honor of being nominated for Outstanding Achievement in Direction for Ms. Angela Leone, and received honorable mention for Outstanding Achievement in Costume Design for Ms. Leone and Mrs. Noemi Merenyi.
“We are incredibly honored by this recognition! This production was truly the result of the endless dedication and talent of our entire cast, crew, band, and creative staff,” shares Ms. Leone. “Every person involved in The Addams Family brought their passion, creativity, and commitment to the stage each day and we are deeply grateful to get to work alongside people who share our enthusiasm for good theatre and storytelling. Camden Catholic has a long tradition of excellence in theatre and we are so proud to be a part of a program that continues to inspire students to grow as performers, artists, and collaborators.”
The Rising Star Awards ceremony will take place Tuesday, June 9, at 7:30 p.m. at Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn and will be professionally livestreamed.
