Boys Basketball Wins SJ Championship

Irish basketball brought home the South Jersey Non-Public A Title for a second consecutive year by beating Paul VI 40-34 in a thrilling rivalry match-up on Tuesday, March 5, 2019. Both schools brought a huge and intense fan base to cheer on the Diocesan and Olympic Conference rivals. In the end, CCHS’ experience, effort and talent, led by Coach Matt Crawford, overtook the Eagles. Senior Baba Ajike was a huge force under the basket for CCHS, leading the team with 15 points and 6 rebounds.  Uche Okafor and Zach Hicks netted 9 buckets a piece, Valen Tejada had 4 points and a key steal at the end of the game, while senior Pat Corbett was a key player at point for the Irish the entire game.

The Irish will travel to Toms River to compete in the State Final vs. Bergen Catholic on Saturday, March 9 at 2PM.
