“I feel as if I'm part of a community at Camden Catholic because of the close knit family atmosphere that CCHS provides.”

Dear Friends of Camden Catholic:

Celebrating the 125 year legacy of Camden Catholic has provided a wonderful time to reflect on the past and consider our future as a school and a community.  So much has changed about the school since 1887, yet the intangible Irish spirit remains stronger than ever.  Your support remains stronger than ever as well. Annual fund donations have provided the school with approximately $700,000 during this fiscal year, including more than 140 first-time donors. You have answered our calls for support, and for that we are grateful. Despite these figures, we must consider the current economic climate and how that may affect the future of Catholic education, as well as our own sustainability as a private college preparatory institution.

There is no doubt that Camden Catholic students are among the brightest and well-rounded in the region.  Our seniors earned almost 15 million dollars in college scholarship monies and were accepted into 166 colleges and universities across the country and the world. Ninety-eight percent of our students continue on to higher education.  Our course of study, extra-curricular activities, athletics, arts, and religious focus help to create a learning environment which is both unique and attractive to incoming students and their families. However, the cost of providing this exceptional learning environment continues to rise. In 2012 the cost of educating one Camden Catholic student was approximately $11,000, yet our tuition remains at $7,800. We strive to provide financial support to as many students as we can, made possible by generous scholarship donors who consistently contribute to this cause.  However, there are necessary upgrades and improvements which must happen in order for us to continue to provide our students with the tools vital to succeed in college and beyond.

From the addition of distance learning classrooms to faculty fellowships and improvements to our buildings and grounds, some of these improvements are already underway. However, there is so much more we can accomplish with your help.

We thank you for your support of Catholic education and of the legacy that is Camden Catholic. With your continued investment in our future we can allow future students the opportunity to carry on this legacy for 125 years to come.

Sincerely,
Mary Whipkey
