Special Project 07-08 Auditorium Seating Renovation

Over the Christmas 2007 holiday, Camden Catholic’s auditorium received a makeover – new theater seats and flooring. This new look was the vision of alumnus Charlie Grandi ’69,  who remains passionate about his experience at Camden Catholic. Charlie and his wife Sallie pledged $100,000 toward the auditorium renovation project in hope that we raise the additional $100,000 from all other alumni to cover the $200,000 costs.

The Alumni Association stepped into the picture with a $35,000 donation toward the project raised from the 120^th Anniversary. Dennis Archible, president of the Alumni Association, said, “I am glad  the alumni could make an immediate  impact with such a worthwhile project. It is what our group is about.”

 Last year the school purchased a new lighting and sound system  bringing us into the 21^st century. The cost of this was about $45,000. The last step of the project is to air condition the auditorium for summer programs and possible rental opportunities. Camden Catholic’s performing arts tradition has an outstanding history and continues today with excellent musicals, a fantastic band, and a wonderful-sounding chorus. This new look will only enhance our performing arts.
