What is J-Term?

In January, during Catholic Schools Week, Camden Catholic will incorporate a new program into the Leadership Academy, and the regular curriculum –  J-Term: Irish Immersion.  J-Term, short for January Term, will take place over three days in January (1/29-1/31), immediately after first semester exams and before second semester begins.

Over the course of these three days, Camden Catholic will offer course offerings outside of the regular curriculum rooted in student interest and faculty passions.  On this page, students click on the Course Guide link below to review the course listings. Then, after careful thought and consideration, they will click on the Registration link to rank their top ten choices and be placed in ONE course for those three days, immersing themselves in the content of that one course over the J-Term.

Every attempt will be made to place students in their preferred course based on their rankings.  Although students are ranking their top ten courses in order of preference, students will only be placed in ONE course for the three day J-Term.  Students should consider how they would like to spend those three days and read the various options being offered.  Please be aware that some courses might incur an incremental fee ($20-$85) for supplies or trip expenses. Registration for Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors should be completed by Thursday, September 28.

Passionate, purpose driven, innovative, and creative, J-Term provides students and faculty the opportunity to investigate and reflect.  J-Term will be yet another innovative learning experience that makes Camden Catholic the premier Catholic high school in South Jersey.

Freshman J-Term registration will take place after September.  We understand the transition into Camden Catholic while exciting, can be stressful.  We will be offering J-Term courses specifically designed for Freshman and will conduct a separate registration after September.

If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Szurek in the Information Commons or Mr. Bruckner in room 216.
