ABOUT IRISH ATHLETICS
Camden Catholic High School has a long and successful history in South Jersey high school sports. Home of the Irish, Camden Catholic is a member of the highly competitive Olympic Conference, which encompasses public and private high schools located in Burlington, Camden, and Gloucester counties. Our entire athletics program consists of 10 boys’ sports and 10 girls’ sports, the majority of which offer Junior Varsity and Freshman levels.
Collectively as an athletics program, the Irish have won 98 Conference Championships and 31 State Championships, with the most State Championships in wrestling at 15 titles. Additionally, every year we have student-athletes go on to play a sport in college at the Division I, II, and III levels with great success.
Approximately 62% of Camden Catholic students participate in athletics, which is an essential element of the balanced college preparatory curriculum that enriches the body, mind, and spirit. A continued commitment to team sports aids in the cultivation of invaluable characteristics, such as discipline, dedication, collaboration, and sportsmanship. Furthermore, the ability to work within a team towards a common goal is paramount for a collective educational experience.
Most importantly, our coaches genuinely care about our student-athletes as people and are chiefly concerned about the maturation of our students as a whole, not simply as an athlete. They instill and develop within our student-athletes essential interpersonal tools, such as leadership and communication skills. These qualities will be critical throughout their Camden Catholic, collegiate, and professional careers.
