Self-Awareness Competencies

Students will learn skills that will build the following competencies and have been empirically shown to increase well-being, motivation, engagement, performance and life satisfaction, while at the same time decreasing anxiety and depression.

Self Awareness
Students will examine the core beliefs, values and goals that create their worldview. They learn how it affects their everyday life and how to test and challenge their beliefs, values and goals for accuracy, productivity and moral validity.

Strength of Character
Students’ will assesses and recognizes their own strengths and weaknesses and learn how to capitalize on their strengths and minimize their weaknesses.

Mental Fortitude
Students will learn how to be aware of and control their heat of the moment thoughts. They will learn how to break counterproductive habits of thinking.

Emotional Intelligence
Students will learn how to be aware of, asses and control the emotions of oneself, others and groups.

Adaptability: Flexible and Creative Thinking
Students will learn how to be open to change and new information. Students will learn how to rapidly adapts to new information, changing conditions, or unexpected obstacles.
