Strategic Plan (click here)
A vision statement shows the world what we aspire to be. In forming this
statement we had to ask ourselves WHY are we in the business of Catholic education? WHY are we passionate about making this the best institution in South Jersey? We realize we are not only in the business of educating young men and women but we also are responsible for helping them find their purpose in life and forming their relationship with God. The Camden Catholic graduate understands how to make a difference in the world.
HOW do we do this? We have formulated a resourceful strategic plan to help guide us on this journey. We will use this as a road map to help make decisions for the future and keep our vision clear. The plan focuses on areas that will mold our students morally, develop their minds, concentrate on sustainability, and involve the larger community.
- Focus Areas
- Education of the whole person
- Academic preparation
- Student life: arts, athletics, extracurricular programs
- Faculty development
- College and career readiness
- Developing leaders imbued with the Catholic tradition
- Catholic Identity
- Student engagement/development
- Creating model of sustainable excellence
- Fiscal responsibility
- Facility enhancement
- Engagement of the entire community
- Student recruitment
WHAT will we do in each of these focus areas? Each year the administration will plan what will be completed and assess the progress, keeping the Vision for the Future as our guide. We will be the most well-rounded school in South Jersey that graduates proud students who have been given the tools to define their purpose, serve others and God, and learn to be creative, collaborative thinkers in order to make this a better world.
WHAT will help this vision is our first ever Capital Campaign which currently has raised $5.2 million of the $6 million goal. The first project, the new John Pisa ’74 Dining Hall, was completed during the 2014-15 school year. Because community is at the core of our mission, this space enhances ways for students to collaborate and network, empowering the students to define their purpose. The collegiate design of the new dining hall is an advantage for the Camden Catholic student.
The next capital project will be the redesign of our current library into The Ethel Mae Hocker Information Commons, generously supported by the Richard Hocker family. The Hocker Information Commons project will be completed in the summer of 2016.
Why? We want the best for our students and we want to prepare them for learning in a collegiate environment best-equipped for building 21st century skills.
Conceptual drawings of the redesign will be available this fall. What do we need? The Camden Catholic student needs space to collaborate in small groups with intimate multi-media equipped conference rooms. Featured areas may also include a robotics lab, language lab and dedicated space for the Leadership Academy and Christian Ministry. The estimated cost of this project is approximately $1 million. This is an investment to help our school position itself as an educational leader in South Jersey and the region. How will we achieve this? Through the donations of alumni and friends of Camden Catholic. The project is approximately 50 percent funded as of July 2015. Naming opportunities are available as we seek donations for the remaining $500,000.
